Wedding is such a beautiful event, which brings together two souls. It is said that marriages are made in heaven. We are just the follower. This is a social event where marriage is celebrated. Wedding can be defined as a private or sacred ceremony at which beginning of married life is celebrated. Wedding initiates the other phase of his/her life. Generally it is performed once in a lifetime. But, in the modern world there is drastic change in the concept of wedding. Now, there are number of wedding traditions or customs exists in the world. Some of them have lost its original meaning in the world of modern society.Some describe wedding as bride's departure from her father's house to husband's house. But this concept has changed nowadays, since both husband and wife plays important role in running their daily life.
Now the question is why wedding is performed only in white outfit? The answer for this is related with royal family. It began with the color choice of Queen Victoria. She was first to wear white wedding dress in the modern era. Hence, it became very popular. Previously, it was of many color and shades. Pastel shades were also one of them. It is also believed that white color is the symbol of purity and virginity. Whether this is a joke or misconception cannot be decided but still this is a preferred color code.
This is not considered appropriate for second or third marriage of widow or divorcee.
Wedding is generally performed in churches and everybody tries to make it in most prestigious and famous church. In United States it is also performed at family's residence or in private club.

Wedding procedure differs from place to place and churches to churches. But there are some common attendees who have to present at the time of wedding. They are from bride's as well as groom's side. They are best man, groomsmen, bridesmaids, maid of honor, flower girl, ring bearer and ushers.
Wedding is always followed by wedding reception. Wedding cake is one of the main dishes in the menu. Somewhere in western traditions toasting is also included. The new couple dance and cut the cake. The bride then throws the flowers towards assembled unmarried woman. It is belief that whoever catches that flower is the next to marry. Similarly the groom also throws the bride's garter to the unmarried man.
